Alla prima is a painting technique in which new paint is added to previous layers of still wet paint. With this technique, the artwork has to be completed in a short time, while the paint is still wet.

If you want the colours to flow smoothly into one another in a painting, using the alla prima painting technique, it is important that the different paint colours have the same viscosity.

Especially if you want to use the same colour tones across different canvases, as with this artwork.

While painting I was mentally occupied with the colour transitions, the viscosity and how I dealt with this dynamically in this painting. I decided to use these thoughts for the name of the painting.

Acrylic on canvas, 225cm x 100cm x 2cm.
