 "Ox goads"

Inspired by the ox goad, a long stick with a pointed end used to spur or guide livestock, usually oxen, pulling a plow or cart.

It is probably the origin of the letter "L", because of its shape, in early Semitic writings from around 1500 BC, later adopted by the Greeks in their alphabet.
